The Sydney Sixers have obtained a major boost ahead of Thursday night’s Challenger Final with much-loved star Jordan Silk signing on for a further three seasons in magenta.
The deal will keep the two-time Big Bash champion at the club until the end of BBL|15 – a huge win for the side set to face the Brisbane Heat for a spot in the KFC BBL|12 Final later this week.

Widely regarded as the competition’s best fielder, Silk has become synonymous with extraordinary grabs and match-winning boundary efforts, sitting atop the leaderboard for all-time catches in the league.
His highlights reel in the field is matched only by his reliable performances with the bat, firmly cementing himself as a consistent middle-order performer.
Surpassing 2,000 career runs earlier in the season, Silk now sits behind only Sixers captain Moises Henriques on the list of leading run-scorers for the club.
Making his debut in BBL|03, Silk quickly caught the attention of fans with what remains one of the best catches that the competition has seen, lighting up the Gabba in just his third game.
Proudly notching his 100th BBL appearance earlier in the summer, the right-hander became the third Sydney Sixer to bring up the milestone, joining Moises Henriques and veteran Dan Christian in the illustrious triple-figure club.
Head of Sydney Sixers, Jonathan Robinson-Lees expressed his excitement with the 30-year-old putting pen to paper, singing the praises of the star.
“Jordan is a Sydney Sixer through and through” Robinson-Lees said.
“He is an integral part of this club, and we are thrilled that he has signed on for another three years.
“The energy that Jordan brings is contagious across the club and he is a true professional, on and off the field.
“Jordan is a fan favourite and it is fantastic that Sixers fans can see him in action for years to come.”
Sydney fans will have the opportunity to see Silk at home for the final time this season when the Sixers host the Brisbane Heat in the do-or-die Challenger Final at the SCG on Thursday night.
