Cathy Freeman Park at Sydney Olympic Park will be transformed into a live site to screen the first two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia.

The NSW Government will set up a large live screen and site activations at Cathy Freeman Park in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct. The sites will be open for the first three days of play, starting 9 February, play is expected to run from 3pm to 10.30pm.

With the series coinciding with Term 1 Woolworths Cricket Blast junior registrations, Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said it’s an opportunity for families get together and for the next generation of cricketers to watch their heroes.

“There is incredible excitement and anticipation for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Test series between Australia and India, two of the top teams in world cricket. We thank the NSW Government for providing an opportunity for fans to come together in Western Sydney to watch and celebrate this iconic series,” Mr Hockley said.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said the Sydney Olympic Park site was the perfect place to bring cricket fans together.

“Our nations may be fierce competitors on the cricket pitch but the connections between our two cultures have never been stronger and I am sure we’ll see that come to life when fans of both cricket teams come together at Olympic Park,” Mr Perrottet said.
