Batsman Zakir Hasan has been ruled out of the ODI series against Ireland which starts on Saturday in Sylhet. The 25-year-old left-hander suffered a thumb injury in training at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
National Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said: “Zakir injured his left thumb while batting in the nets today. An X-ray has shown a minor undisplaced fracture which could take around two weeks to recover from. Unfortunately, this means he will not be available for the ODI series.”
Right-handed batsman Rony Talukdar has been named as Zakir’s replacement in the ODI squad named for the first two matches of the series.
