Bio

Wavell Hinds is a senior cricket administrator and former national team player for the West Indies. He currently serves as the CEO/President of the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA), a role he has held since April 2012. He succeeded Dinanath Ramnarine and initially held the position on an interim basis before being elected unopposed as the full-term president of WIPA in January 2013. Hinds has since been re-elected unopposed in 2015, 2017, 2019, and for his fifth term in 2021 for an additional 2 years.

As a cricketer for the West Indies, Hinds played in 45 Tests, 119 ODIs, and 5 T20Is for the West Indies Men’s National Team from September 1999 to May 2010. He also represented Jamaica from 1996 to 2011 and played for Derbyshire in 2008.

Prior to his presidency of WIPA, Hinds served as WIPA’s Treasurer for four years and as a Vice President for six years under Ramnarine. Hinds has been a member of WIPA’s executive since 2002.
