The team behind one of Australian sport’s most popular clubs, the Brisbane Heat, are officially in the running to take home three major awards at the 2023 Mumbrella Sports Marketing Summit in Sydney this August.

It comes today as Mumbrella reveal the finalists across ten categories at the annual awards, with the Heat nominated for Best On-ground Activation for the StreetSmarts Innings Break Show with the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Best Team or Sport Sponsorship for the principal partnership with Great Southern Bank, and Best Owned or Social Media award which recognises the Heat’s strong online presence which is the biggest for any club in Oceania across all social media channels.

General Manager of Marketing and Public Affairs Pete Lock said the nomination trifecta reflects the marketing team’s desire to push the creative boundaries each season.

“We are over the moon and humbled to be nominated across three award categories at this year’s Mumbrella Sports Marketing Awards.”

“The Heat’s core purpose of ‘bringing families together’ is at the centre of everything we do, and each season we work hard to deliver unique and exciting brand experiences that unite families and engage our loyal fan base of over 1.1 million Australian supporters.”

“We are very fortunate to work with great partners such as Great Southern Bank and the Department of Transport and Main Roads who share our vision for fun, family entertainment, and continue to help us push the boundaries with activations and content.”

“We’re currently in peak planning mode for the summer ahead, so the news has come at the perfect time and proves that our ideas not only engage our fans but also capture the attention of industry leaders. It’s a huge compliment and privilege to be noticed in this way.”

The Heat has previously won a Mumbrella Sports Marketing Award for Best Owned or Social Media and have been shortlisted in the Marketing Team of the Year and Best On-Ground Activation categories.

The winners will be announced at the Mumbrella Sports Marketing Awards on 24 August at the Royal Randwick in Sydney.
