Alice Capsey dominated for England in the most recent T20 whilst we saw Scott Boland return to the test side.

One of last year’s international WBBL recruits, Alice Capsey, was named player of the match in the second T20 match against Australia in the Women’s Ashes.

Capsey smashed 46 from 23 deliveries to guide England to victory and maintain hope for an unlikely Ashes victory after Australia won the standalone test and first T20 of the multi-format series.

Earlier in the week, Annabel Sutherland took 3-28 in Australia’s victory in the first T20 of the Women’s Ashes.

The third test in the Ashes saw a return for Scott Boland, fresh off his new 3 year deal with the Stars. The series now heads to Manchester with Australia leading 2-1.

Meanwhile, Glenn Maxwell‘s Birmingham Bears were knocked out of the T20 Blast after a quarter final defeat to Essex.

Despite finishing on top of the table, the finals series is a knockout format, which means there was no second chance for the Bears.

In squad news, Kim Garth and Annabel Sutherland have been chosen for Australia as they take on Ireland in 3 ODIs after the Ashes.
