The ACB High-Performance Center conducted the second phase of the Fast Bowling Hunt Program, which initially began in Kandahar Province in May 2023. The department is looking for fast bowlers who can bowl at an average pace of 135 kilometers per hour.

More than 100 fast bowlers who could bowl at least 130 kmph participated in today’s event at Kabul’s MN7 Cricket Academy. Only fast bowlers with an average speed of 135 kmph were selected for the next phases of the program.

HPC’s coaching staff, including two international coaches, Mr. Rana Naveed Ul Hassan and Mr. Imran Farhat, were also present to oversee the event. They were accompanied by ACB’s domestic cricket coaches Mr. Qiamuddin Kakar, Sayed Rahman Ahmadzai and the HPC Manager Mr. Abdul Wali Amin.

Mr. Abdul Wali Amin, ACB’s HPC Manager, detailed the procedure and stated that they have called all fast bowlers who have shown good glimpses of them during Afghanistan’s domestic cricket events. He also stated that they had urged ACB’s provincial managers to introduce the best available fast bowlers from their respective provinces who could bowl at 135 kmph.

“Lal Baaz is a young fast bowler who clicked 141 kmph today which is a good sign for Afghanistan Cricket. We are committed to continuing this process and finding the best of the available raw talent in the country, to further strengthen Afghanistan’s Fast Bowling Batteries. ACB’s HPC coaches are committed to working with the selected fast bowlers to improve their skills and prepare them for higher-level cricket.” Mr. Amin added.
