THE HOME OF FOOD FESTIVAL IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MICHELIN-STARRED CHEF TOMMY BANKS UNDOUBTEDLY HAS ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING CHEF LINE-UPS THIS YEAR.

The roll call of 17 executive chefs from some of the UK’s most innovative restaurants includes two Michelin-starred chef Gareth Ward, famed Irish chef Richard Corrigan, and the duo behind iconic Haymarket restaurant Fallow, Will Murray and Jack Croft.

They’ll all be cooking their sought-after dishes in a street food style concept for visitors to savour from pop-ups and food trucks around the iconic cricket ground. Over the weekend the demo stage, will also play host to an all-star line-up of chef demonstrations, from Nokx Majozi from Holborn Dining Room’s iconic The Pie Room, to recent Great British Menu winner Tom Shepherd. Keeping everyone on track, the stage will be hosted by Melissa Thompson, an award-winning writer and cook, as well as running food and recipe project Fowl Mouths. Melissa is also a columnist for BBC Good Food magazine, and often writes for The Guardian, Vittles, Waitrose Magazine and more.

Tommy Banks, who has worked with MCC to create this amazing festival commented: “I’m so excited to have such a line-up of chefs over the weekend doing everything from food demonstrations and food truck pop-ups to special banquets. I really can’t wait to get to work with them all. It’s going to be foodie heaven in a cricket lover’s paradise – for me there’s nothing better”.

There’s also a host of exclusive activities* to enjoy throughout the weekend from wine tasting in the iconic Lord’s Pavilion (a place usually reserved for MCC Members only) to cocktail making with De Kuyper on the roof terrace of the Mound Stand, where the views of Lord’s are outstanding. You can also wander down Artisan Alley showcasing local producers alongside some of the biggest brands in food and drink.

The festival is geared towards a great day out, in a unique venue for all the family. Entry into Lord’s is usually restricted to cricket matches and tours, so this is a truly unique opportunity to visit one of the world’s most famous cricket grounds. The children will be entertained with free interactive cooking lessons as well as kids’ cricket taster sessions. Mini tours of the ground will be available, including a visit to the iconic grade II* listed Lord’s Pavilion and the Museum where the Ashes urn is kept. The picnic area, on the Nursery Ground, is a great place to lounge, meet your friends, and enjoy your food and drinks.

“FOR ONE WEEKEND ONLY LORD’S WILL OPEN ITS GATES TO THE FOOD-LOVING GENERAL PUBLIC WHO’LL ENJOY THE VERY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE HERE AT LORD’S”

James De Groot, Chief F&B Officer said: “This is a first for me in my career. I’m very excited about the calibre of chefs, the huge brands involved, and the support we have from some of the best companies in the food and drink industry. For one weekend only Lord’s will open its gates to the food-loving general public who’ll enjoy the very unique experience here at Lord’s”.
