Talented batter Courtney Webb will continue her Women’s Big Bash League career in red, signing a new two-year deal with the Melbourne Renegades.

The 23-year-old has recommitted to the club until the end of WBBL|10.

Webb has played 63 WBBL matches for the Renegades since making her debut in WBBL|03.

Her reputation as a player to watch in Australian cricket has continued to grow, after representing Australia A earlier this year in England.

“There’s something special building with this group and I can’t wait to see what we can do over the next couple of years,” Webb said.

“I’ve had some great opportunities to grow my game over the last 12 months, including representing Australia A. Hopefully those experiences hold me in in good stead for the WBBL this summer.

“We’ve got a strong team culture – this is a group I love playing with. Hopefully, we can get back to the finals this year and be pushing for our first WBBL title.”

Webb played all 14 games for the club in WBBL|08 and was the team’s second-highest run-scorer (252), filling various roles in the batting order between number three and number six.

In her recent games for Australia A, she scored three half-centuries in seven matches, and was also named the WNCL Player of the Year last season after a dominant campaign with South Australia.

“Courtney’s been an important part of our line-up for a couple of years now and we’re excited to have her locked in for another two years,” Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten, said.

“Her game continues to evolve and we believe she can be a real match-winner for us. Alongside our international signings and local talent, Courtney adds to what is becoming a deep batting group for the season ahead.”

The Renegades will begin their WBBL|09 campaign on October 20 against the Brisbane Heat at the CitiPower Centre.
