On Saturday, September 16, Mudassar Bukhari will say goodbye as a cricketer after a wonderful career. The place of action is his club Sparta on the Bermweg in Capelle. The match starts at 4:00 PM. One team consists of friends and family of Mudassar and the other of former teammates, clubmates and (former) Dutch national team players.

Mudassar Bukhari (Gujrat, Pakistan, December 26, 1983) came to the Netherlands at the age of fourteen. He played for Asian, ACC, Dosti United (with which he won the national championship in 2015) and since 2017 as a player-coach for Sparta.

Mudassar made his debut for the Netherlands against Canada in Toronto in 2007. In 46 One Day Internationals he made 516 runs with a highest score of 71 against Ireland in 2007 and took 57 wickets (for 1,601 runs). No Dutch bowler took more wickets in ODIs; he shares that record with Pieter Seelaar. In T20Is, his numbers are even more impressive; 43-780 means a bowling average of 18.13, with best figures of 4-7 (!) against the United Arab Emirates in 2016.
