The Sydney Sixers will proudly welcome a new member into the Sixers family this summer, joining forces with telecommunication provider Belong for the next three years.

Australia’s first carbon neutral telecommunications service provider, Belong – like the Sixers – are a leader in their field.

Launched by Telstra in 2013 providing internet plans, Belong later branched into mobile. Certified carbon neutral in 2019, Belong are industry award winners, driven by their mission to make the digital world simple, accessible, and affordable.

The partnership is set to mark the first major sporting sponsorship for Belong, and for the first time, a Principal Partner across both the Sixers’ BBL and WBBL teams – a testament to Belong’s commitment to inclusivity.

For five-time W/BBL champions, the Sixers, success on-field has been long-term and enduring, making them one of the league’s most decorated clubs.

Off-field the club proudly continues to cultivate a culture that aims to celebrate the individuality of all fans and players, creating a welcoming atmosphere and a space of belonging for all – in perfect alignment with their newest partner.

Head of Sydney Sixers, Rachael Haynes, said the partnership was the start of an exciting new chapter for the club.

“The Sixers are extremely proud to partner with Belong for the next three years. The partnership marks an exciting first for both parties – the first major partnership in sport for Belong, and the first time we will have a Principal Partner across both the men’s and women’s teams for the Sixers.” Haynes said.

“As a club we’re driven by making a positive impact, whether that be on our fans, on our sport or on our wider community. We want everyone to feel like they belong at the Sixers.

“We want to partner with organisations who care genuinely and thrive on bringing people together.”

Head of Product and Marketing at Belong, Aaliah Eggins-Bryson said the partnership aligns with Belong’s mission to help all Australians feel like they belong.

“At Belong, we’re committed to supporting communities and initiatives that drive positive impact. The Sydney Sixers do just this – and we couldn’t be prouder to kick off our partnership with such a fantastic club.

“Sport brings people together, and connection is of the utmost importance to us at Belong. We look forward to working with the Sydney Sixers team to help empower sports stars from the ground up, making attending the cricket more accessible to customers and elevating sport – particularly female participation in sport – for fans across the country.”

The Sixers are set to open the Weber WBBL|09 season on Thursday, October 19, at the iconic North Sydney Oval, taking on the Melbourne Stars. The Sixers will begin their KFC BBL|13 campaign on Friday, December 8, facing the Melbourne Renegades at the SCG.

Tickets for both the WBBL|09 and BBL|13 seasons are on sale now.
