  • 24 players are invited to attend a 4-day women’s selection camp in Groveland, Florida this week.
  • A squad of 15 players plus 3 reserves will be selected for the ICC Women’s World Cup Global Qualifier, which will be held in the UAE, April 19 – May 8, 2024.

USA Cricket will be hosting a women’s national team training and selection camp at the Orlando Cricket Ground, Groveland, Florida beginning on Thursday, February 29 through March, 3, 2024. The 24-player roster will be without national players, Snigdha Paul and Onika Wallerson, who are unavailable to travel to Florida for the selection camp. UK-based Americans, Tara Norris and Ella Claridge, will attend the camp. Both players feature in first class cricket in England, and Norris who played in the inaugural 2023 WPL tournament, last represented USA in 2021.

The 4-day program will be led by Burt Cockley, while the process for appointing a permanent Women’s Head Coach continues. Cockley has served as the women’s national team assistant coach and strength and conditioning coach at multiple ICC events.

Amer Afzaluddin, Marty Kain and Kalyani Dhokarikar have been appointed as (interim) selectors and are tasked with identifying a squad of 15 plus 3 reserves, to represent the USA Women’s National Team in the ICC Women’s World Cup Global Qualifier, scheduled to begin in Abu Dhabi on April 19.
