Cricket Hong Kong, China to host two T20 World Cup Teams in the Hong Kong Men’s T20I Series 2024!

Cricket Hong Kong, formerly known as the Hong Kong Cricket Association, is the governing body for cricket in Hong Kong. Established in 1968, it is headquartered in So Kon Po, Causeway Bay. An associate member of the ICC since 1969, Cricket Hong Kong also belongs to the Asian Cricket Council.

Cricket Hong Kong, China is delighted to announce the Hong Kong Men’s T20I Series 2024 to be played at Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground from the 9th to 13th March 2024!

The Nepal Men’s National Cricket Team will be competing at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground for the first time, while Papua New Guinea are returning to Hong Kong, China after their last visit for the South China Cup and West Pacific Cup in 2018.

Burji Shroff, Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China, said “We are delighted to welcome the Cricket Association of Nepal and Cricket PNG to visit Hong Kong, China for the upcoming Hong Kong Men’s T20I Series 2024. We hope this tournament can showcase the development of cricket in Hong Kong, China and hopefully our fans will enjoy the exciting clashes between Hong Kong, China and the visiting teams.”

The tournament will begin with Hong Kong, China playing a T20I match against Nepal on 9th March in the Hong Kong Men’s T20I Series Friendship Cup – a one off match to celebrate the relationship between Cricket Hong Kong, China and Cricket Association of Nepal. Following the Friendship Cup, three teams will then play a round-robin tournament; the top two finishers of the group stage will proceed to the final while the last team will play in a third-place game against Hong Kong, China ‘A’.

Chatur Bahadur Chand, the President of Cricket Association of Nepal, said “We are thrilled to see the partnership growing between Cricket Association of Nepal and Cricket Hong Kong, China. We are excited to visit Hong Kong, China as we believe this tournament will be great preparation for the team in preparing for the ACC Premier Cup in April.”

Michael Harrison, the Chairman of Cricket PNG, said “It is great to see the strong foundation between the three associations and we are looking forward to coming back to Hong Kong, China after featuring in the West Pacific Cup and South China Cup in 2018. The team is on road to prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June and we are also excited to entertain the fans in Hong Kong, China.”

The Hong Kong Men’s T20I Series 2024 will be broadcast live around the world, with fans being able to watch the action either on the CHK’s YouTube Channel or on FanCode in India.

This event(s) is subvented by Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (CSTB) (Arts and Sport Development Fund, ASDF), supported by Leisure and Cultural Services Department of The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
