The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is the governing body for cricket in Bangladesh. It joined the ICC in 1977 and became a full member in 2000. The BCB oversees Bangladesh's men's, women's, and under-19 national teams.

In recognition of the contribution of Shaheed Sheikh Kamal to sports and cricket in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to name the Youth Cricket League (YCL) as ‘Shaheed Sheikh Kamal Youth Cricket League’ from the next edition of the event.

The YCL is a annual four-team Under-19 competition organised by Game Development BCB consisting a 4-day and a one-day match in each round.
