The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the national governing body for cricket in England and Wales, formed on January 1, 1997. It combines roles from the Test and County Cricket Board, National Cricket Association, and Cricket Council, and integrated the Women's Cricket Association in 1998. Based at Lord's Cricket Ground, the ECB oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men, women, and various disability categories.

Dick Wildgoose passed away aged 88.

The England and Wales Cricket Board is sorry to learn of the recent passing of Dick Wildgoose.  Together with his twin brother Fred, they formed the Cricket Federation for People with Disabilities in 1994 and were very much the pioneers of mixed impairment cricket which has led to the opportunities that are in place today.

ECB’s Head of Disability Cricket, Ian Martin, said: “On behalf of everybody involved in disability cricket I wish to send our condolences to Dick’s family for their loss.

“Dick and his brother Fred made a significant contribution to the development of cricket for people with disabilities, a long time before the current structure and pathway existed and we owe them a great deal. Whilst the game has moved on from their beginnings in Shropshire, we would not be where we are today without the foundations that they built”
