Cricket Scotland is pleased to announce a new three-year partnership with Ram Cricket.

The partnership will provide new and improved equipment for junior cricket in schools across Scotland, with a commitment by Cricket Scotland to purchase and distribute 100 bundle sets of equipment for schools across the country in 2024, with further investment in this area in 2025 and 2026.

Additionally, RAM Cricket will now become a preferred equipment supplier to the governing body, with a focus on coaching and education. This will benefit the development of young talent within the Performance Pathways.

Scottish cricket clubs will have the opportunity to benefit further from this partnership, with Ram Cricket offering a 10% discount on cricket equipment to all clubs in Scotland.

Nic Wilson, Head of Development at Cricket Scotland, said:

“This is a hugely important partnership for Cricket Scotland as we look to increase investment into the grassroots of our sport.

“We are developing a new teacher training program to grow cricket in Scottish state schools, a key target which was fed back from our consultation sessions with regions and clubs last year.

“The new equipment will support our efforts in delivering more cricket in state schools around the country and will be available from the start of the new academic year. Our Regional Development Officers will manage the roll out of the teacher training programme and the distribution of the equipment.

“I’m particularly excited about our newly “Cricket Scotland” branded equipment which young people across Scotland will have the chance to use! It’s been a pleasure to work with RAM Cricket who’ve done a great job at designing the new equipment, embellished with the Cricket Scotland tartan.

“Our youngest participants are hugely important to growing the game in Scotland and we hope they are inspired by the Scottish themed bats, balls and kit bags.”

Tristan Aylward, Managing Director of Ram Cricket, said:

“We are delighted at Ram Cricket to be working in partnership with Cricket Scotland to support their initiatives with cricket in schools. We know how important it is to attract and retain players at a young age and with our high-quality equipment, produced for all ages, we are passionate about increasing participation in cricket at all levels.

“Ram Cricket remains committed to supporting cricket at the grassroots level and we are proud to be partners with Cricket Scotland.”
