Are you the glue that holds it all together?

We are looking for an organisational whizz who can pull all the strands together to keep the teams ticking over. This is a critical role to ensure that all the CCA teams are well looked after and that all matchdays run smoothly. It is a varied and important role and one that will be fun and rewarding. With a focus on match management, team logistics and relationship management we want to hear from anyone with an interest in sport who understands the needs of a team, is a great problem solver and loves the detail.

The Role:

Domestic Match Operations and Management

  • Directly or indirectly ensure the effective match management and delivery at both Hagley Oval and CCA out-grounds (Mainpower Oval, Nursery, Willows, Timaru etc).
  • Deliver dressing room management both directly or through Changing Room Attendants (CRAs).
  • Ensure proficient medical plans are in place for all CCA delivered matches.
  • Ensure match day catering meets the guidelines set by the CCA Performance Nutritionist.
  • Ensure Drug Free Sport New Zealand can complete anti-doping testing when required and manage any training and playing databases as required (My Adams Whereabouts etc).
  • Liaison with NZC Match officials (referees and umpires) to ensure effective domestic cricket delivery.
  • Organisation of match day parking logistics.
  • Visiting away team communications and support

International Match Operations and Management

  • Ensure the effective match management and delivery at Hagley Oval for international fixtures in liaison with NZC, Christchurch City Council and Venues Otautahi.
  • Organisation of match day parking logistics.

Team Logistics and Programme Planning

  • Provide training and match day schedules for Kings, Magicians, age group teams, academy programmes.
  • Book all travel and accommodation for CCA teams.
  • Organise any meals and daily allowances for teams a required.
  • Ensure all training provision and requirement are delivered (seating, hydration, analysis set up).
  • Coordinate with CCA Officiating Manager to ensure all officiating requests are met.

Facility Management

  • Understanding needs of facilities as they pertain to New Zealand Cricket requirements.
  • Review and manage ongoing development of performances to meet the developing needs of CCA performance teams.

Other administrative duties

  • Teamworks superuser.
  • Manage the provision of matchday accreditation for all CCA players and staff for domestic and international cricket.
  • Complete Cricket Operations season reviews with CCA and NZC.
  • Provide winter programmes support ensuring all facilities are booked.
  • Support General Manager Performance to schedule annual training facility plan with Hagley Turf Team/Council and Mainpower.
  • Management of CCA clothing and kit outs for both teams and CCA staff including reviews, recommendations and ordering.
  • Ensure ball and stump stock is maintained and place orders when required.
  • Manage scaffolding requirements for camera towers as required during the session as well as ensuring an effective NZC analysis programme can function at CCA home matches.
  • Management of scoreboard delivery, set up and pack down for international and domestic fixtures.
  • Manage relations and service for external contractors and suppliers (Coca-Cola, Southern Ice, Alsco, Monster Vision, Spectrum, Venues Otautahi, Christchurch City Council etc).

Skills and Experience:

Work experience

  • Minimum 2+ years experience working within a sports environment, in events and/or customer facing role.

Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Sound knowledge and experience of managing sports operations and preferably in cricket.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Technology savvy and proficient using Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience in managing a budget
  • Skills and experience working collaboratively with a diversity of people.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must have a passion for cricket.
  • Enjoys providing excellent customer experience.
  • Friendly, approachable, a highly skilled communicator and a natural problem solver.
  • Comfortable working in an open plan office environment.
  • Physically fit and able to be on your feet for extended periods.
  • Prepared to work evenings, weekends, and holidays especially across the the cricket season.
  • A desire to learn and develop in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification e.g., event management, sport management, coaching or administration.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
  • Must have a current full drivers license.
