About SACA
Established in 1871, the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) has a rich history as one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australian’s. SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches at Adelaide Oval, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management at Karen Rolton Oval. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the South Australian Men’s and Women’s teams and Adelaide Strikers women’s and men’s teams.

As a Casual Cricket Officer, you will be helping to grow participation in Australia’s favourite sport and inspiring the next generation of cricket players and fans. This is an opportunity to take your first step towards a professional career in the sporting industry.
SACA is committed to providing a safe environment for all children and young people involved in cricket. A core requirement of the Casual Cricket Officer role is a current Working with Children Check.
Please note, you are not required to be based in metropolitan Adelaide for this role however will need to be able to attend an Adelaide based training if successful for this position.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivery of Woolworths Cricket Blast programs and Adelaide Strikers Holiday Programs at schools, clubs, and associations.
- Delivery of promotional activities in primary schools, including the Woolworths Cricket Blast Health & PE program, Sporting Schools, Mascot Challenge, assembly and school gate activations.
- Match management of SACA Super Cricket and Junior Smash games.
- Coordination and delivery of Primary School Cricket.
- Staffing of activations at W/BBL and International cricket fixtures as required.
- Match day or event assistant roles as required.
- Other administrative tasks as required.
Our ideal team member:
- Current DHS Working with Children Background Check or be willing to obtain one
- Current Catholic Schools Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one
- Experience working with children
- Experience coordinating and engaging large groups of people
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- A current full driver’s license
- Access to a registered and roadworthy vehicle
RAN Training – Fundamentals and Masterclass
Would also be great if you have…
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Current first aid certification
- Understanding of and ability to articulate the Australian Cricket Pathway
- Current Cricket Australia Community Coach (Level 1) accreditation or be willing to obtain one
