Southern Brave have confirmed their captains for The Hundred in 2024
Georgia Adams and James Vince have been confirmed as Southern Brave’s captains for the 2024 season.
Adams takes over from cricketing legend Anya Shrubsole, who retired at the end of The Hundred in 2023. After winning the inaugural edition with Oval Invincibles back in 2021, Adams moved to Southern Brave the following year.
She finished 2023 as the leading wicket-taker in the Women’s Competition, her 17 wickets helping Brave to the title after finishing as runners-up in the previous two years.
ADAMS SAID:
“It’s a privilege to be taking over from Anya who was an amazing captain and someone the whole team looked up to. I’m super excited to get going and really looking forward to leading a fantastic group of players and trying to defend the trophy.”
Vince has led Brave in the Men’s Competition since the start of The Hundred. Under his captaincy, the team lifted the trophy at Lord’s in 2021.
No men’s batter who has played for Southern Brave has scored as many runs as Vince, who has 556 across the three campaigns.
VINCE SAID:
“The Hundred is so fast-paced, you’re always having to stay two steps ahead so it’s been a challenge but one I’ve really enjoyed. I love captaining this team and can’t wait to get going again in front of our home fans on 24 July.”
