Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. Originally registered as the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka on June 30, 1975, it was renamed Sri Lanka Cricket in 2003.

Sri Lanka Cricket on Thursday, 09th January, 2020 declared opened a new facility in the High Performance Center of the RPICS, in order to provide accommodation facilities for the cricketers.

The ‘Player Accommodation Facility’ at the RPICS was declared opened by Mr. Kumar Sangakkara, President of the Marylebone Cricket Club at the invitation of President of the SLC Mr. Shammi Silva.

Sri Lanka Cricket will use this much needed facility to provide accommodation for the players of the squads representing the National, Emerging, ‘A’ Team and National Age Group (Men’s) teams as and when training camps are held for the respective squads.

The new state of the art facility can provide accommodation for 39 cricketers at a given time, whilst accommodation facilities are also available for team coaches and managers.

Sri Lanka Cricket also has plans to build a similar facility at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in the near future.
