PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity to become England Women Pathway S&C Coach. The role will take a lead on maximising player physical preparation and availability in combination with the England Women SS&M team and Regional S&M teams across the preparation and performance phases for the England Women A squad.

The England Women A programme will provide opportunities in an inspirational development environment with competitive exposure at International level for players deemed with the highest potential to play for England Women in the future, as well as players highlighting key potential to further their career within the domestic game.

The England Women Pathway S&C Coach will also support the wider S&C team with delivery to the England Women programme. This will include but is not limited to; delivery on camps and tour support where needed, work as part of a large multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality rehabilitation and player support and GPS support to the pathway.

The role will be required for 200 days between 1st August 2024-1st August 2025.

YOU’LL LOVE THIS JOB IF

You have a passion for delivering high quality Strength & Conditioning support and enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team.

YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Design in collaboration with the National Lead and regional SS&M staff, and lead the delivery of an outstanding physical development programme for the players perceived to have the highest potential to be England Women cricketers of the future.
  • Complete physical profiling of England Women A players in collaboration with ECB staff
  • Complete regular monitoring of players using Insight 360 and feedback to SS&M and coaching staff to maximise player development through the preparation phase. In addition to maximising player availability in conjunction with the medical team.
  • Provide coaching direction and support, both directly and in partnership with Regional teams, to the identified players selected into the England Women A programme, inclusive of coaching players within residential training camps and on tour.
  • Collaborate and contribute to short and medium-term Player Development Plans for identified players with the Regional teams.
  • Monitor the impact and effectiveness of the England Women A programme and submit regular reports to the National Lead for Physical Preparation.
  • Contribute to a robust review process of the England Women A programme following the completion of the series.
  • Support the S&C team with delivery to England Women players where required.
  • Contribute to and deliver high quality rehabilitation as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide GPS support to the England Pathway and England Women as required.
  • To attend key multidisciplinary meetings and forums as directed by the National Lead for Physical Preparation
  • To support England Women’s Science and Medicine Team with other key tasks required to deliver high quality science and medicine support to players.

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Experience of programme design (both individual and team), implantation, management and evaluation for high potential female athletes.
  • Demonstratable experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams in high performance sport.
  • Knowledge of Women’s cricket at both Regional and International levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills  with exceptional standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • UKSCA Accreditation.
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and Safeguarding Children certification – a DBS disclosure is an impartial and confidential document that details and individuals criminal record and where appropriate gives details of those who are barred from working with children.
  • Understand the important of safeguarding and be able to demonstrate awareness of how to apply best practice principles in a performance pathway environment.
  • High levels of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Honesty, tact and strong will to succeed.
  • Excellent IT skills with competent ability using Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel independently.
  • A valid first aid certificate.

DESIRABLE

  • Familiar with the use of GPS and data representation.
  • Experience using Power Bi.
