World Sports Betting head coach Salieg Nackerdien today bolstered his support staff ranks as the 2024/25 season fast approaches.
The appointments of Justin Kemp (Bowling Head) and Brent Martin (Physiotherapist) completes Nackerdien’s skills contingent already consisting of Qaasim Adams (Batting), Dieter Swanepoel (Strength and Conditioning), Romano Ramoo (Analyst) and Jevon Herandien (Logistics).
The Komani born former all-rounder is no stranger to World Sports Betting Newlands territory having played and Captained the Cape Cobras and Western Province in a 9-year period spanning from 2007-2015. During his time as a player the all-rounder led the side to multiple title winning campaigns. Kemp also represented the Proteas in all three formats spanning from 2001-2007.
Nackerdien has also brought in experienced physiotherapist Martin taking over from Mohammed Sonday who departed WSB Western Province at the end of last season.
Martin who is the current High-Performance Physiotherapist with Cricket South Africa (CSA) brings a wealth of experience having also been part of Goldrush Boland.
Nackerdien commented on the new appointments.
“We are very happy to have Justin and Brent on board. Kemp has now had a stint with us in last season’s T20 campaign and is no stranger to the landscape of Western Province. He’s been part of the success of the Cape Cobras as captain lifting multiple trophies and the value, he will bring to our bowling department puts us on a very good path,” said Nackerdien.
“Brent is a very experienced physio currently part of the CSA high-performance coaches. He’s done a sterling job so far and built-up trust with players during his time in the game and those are key factors in building a strong support staff”.
“I feel it’s vital to have the right people on board that can assist and drive the squad in the right direction. Both Justin and Brent are two quality human beings and skilled professionals that can build and add value to our culture”.
The World Sports Betting Men have begun their Pre-Season preparations with Phase 1 focusing on strength and conditioning.
