Drummoyne Oval, home to some of the greatest moments in WBBL history, will play host to an exciting festival of cricket this summer after Sydney Thunder confirmed they will play three matches in nine days at the venue in November.
While the full fixture for Weber WBBL|10 will be released next week, Sydney Thunder have provided a sneak peek for their loyal members and fans into what is shaping as the League’s most iconic season.
Thunder, coming off the back of a semi final season, will play the Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars over a nine-day period at the picturesque ground, including the blockbuster Sydney Smash against their archrivals on Sunday November 17.
In front of almost 3,500 fans, Drummoyne hosted what many consider the greatest day in WBBL history during WBBL|04 – a semi final double header that saw Thunder go down on the last ball to Brisbane Heat in the first match, then the Sydney Sixers force a Super Over on the last ball of their match against the Melbourne Renegades.
The Sixers eventually won that clash before going on to lose the final at Drummoyne as 5,368 fans packed out the ground.

Sydney Thunder General Manager, Trent Copeland, said Drummoyne was the perfect venue for Thunder to have as a home in this year’s WBBL.
“Drummoyne has a storied history in the annals of the WBBL and we are looking to write the next chapter at what is one of Sydney’s most beautiful venues,” Copeland said.
“To be able to play three matches in just over a week, including the Sydney Smash on a Sunday, is a massive win for our members and fans and the people of Western Sydney.
“Drummoyne lends itself to the family friendly atmosphere that is synonymous with the WBBL and having the three matches will allow us to create Thunder’s own festival of women’s cricket in our own backyard.”
While the action on the field will be the main attraction, families will be able to enjoy a host of exciting off field activations and food options. Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the players for an autograph and selfie after each match.
