ICC Chair Greg Barclay said: “We are delighted with the success of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which has captured the imagination of cricket fans globally and recorded unprecedented interest from fans in the USA.

“It is fantastic to see the success of the World Cup in the USA on the first step of our long-term strategy to bring cricket into the biggest sports market in the world. As a key strategic priority area for the sport, we now look forward to growing the game over the next four years towards the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

“It was also truly wonderful to take an ICC event back to the West Indies and see fans enjoying a genuine Caribbean cricket experience across our six diverse host countries.

“I’d like to thank Cricket West Indies and T20 USA, Inc. for delivering a World Cup that was a true carnival celebration of action-packed cricket. Thank you must also go to the Match Officials and to the ICC staff for delivering such a successful event.
