The T20I series between Zimbabwe and India got underway this Saturday at Harare Sports Club, resulting in a shock upset by Zimbabwe over India in the first match.

On the same day, Zimbabwe cricket announced shirt sponsors for the India tour, as well as apparel sponsors for its ground staff.

BJBAJI, 1XBet as shirt partners for India series

BJBAJI clinched the platinum shirt sponsorship deal which will see the online gaming company’s branding emblazoned on the front of the team’s playing shirt.

Betting company 1XBet, coming in as the gold shirt sponsorship partner, will have its logo on the back.

Commenting on the partnerships, ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni said: “We are delighted to announce BJBAJI and 1XBet as Zimbabwe’s platinum and gold shirt sponsorship partners respectively.

This is a massive boost for our young team as we look forward to a great series against world champions India.”   An official speaking on behalf of the 1Xbet brand said: “We are thrilled to become partners with Zimbabwe Cricket. 1xBet wishes Zimbabwe all the best in the upcoming series and we are excited to see them make great achievements.”

ZC seals deal with Omtex to supply clothing for ground staff

At the same time, Zimbabwe Cricket has for the first time in its history secured an official clothing partner for its ground staff.

Omtex, a leading brand in India for sportswear, will start by providing clothing for ground staff at four of the country’s first-class grounds, Harare Sports Club, Queens Sports Club, Takashinga Cricket Club and Old Hararians Sports Club.

The partnership is worth US$25,000 and will run for two years.

Omtex has already supplied the first batch of apparel ahead of Zimbabwe’s five-match Twenty20 international series against India.

“As our association with Omtex continues to grow, we could not be prouder to announce the company as our official supplier of clothing for our ground staff, the unsung heroes of our game whose critical work normally goes unnoticed,” Makoni said.

Omtex Sports International Director Kunal Patel said: “We are very grateful to support Zimbabwe Cricket’s behind-the-scenes heroes who are never seen in the front to take credit. And we are very thankful to Zimbabwe Cricket for giving us this opportunity to give respect to the ground staff and make us their partners.”

Apart from the clothing deal, ZC has for the past few years been sending various development teams to Omtex’s high performance training facilities in Mumbai.
