The Role
We are currently seeking two vibrant individuals to play a part in the Big Bash League (W/BBL) as our Events Coordinators. One position will be solely dedicated to the Melbourne Renegades while the other to the Melbourne Stars. These positions will play a critical role in working alongside the Events Managers to manage operational and logistical requirements and implement match day strategies to increase fan engagement and provide outstanding match day experiences.
The successful candidates must be available to work out of hours and on weekends from October to January.
It’s an exciting time to be involved in Cricket, as the Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) continue to grow and are now the most watched and fourth most-watched sporting leagues in Australia on a per-game basis.
Key Responsibilities include:
- In conjunction with the Events Manager, successfully oversee end-to-end delivery of events including all member communication, developing run sheets, briefing staff, etc.
- Manage the W/BBL stadium concourse, including setting up activations, coordinating assistance for activations, etc.
- Coordinate all handling of invitations to all events and tracking attendance
- Create all documentation required for events including, but not limited to, run sheets and briefs
- Work directly with relevant providers and staff to arrange set-up and pack-down of concourse activities
- Monitor post-match giveaways, autographs and ‘money can’t buy’ experiences
- Assist in the development of new fan engagement opportunities
- Manage the operations of the Renegades/Stars branded vehicles and attendance at community events
- Ensure all risk management and OH&S documentation and all relevant actions items are completed
- Coordinate all volunteer requirements
About You
The successful candidate will have the proven ability to remain organised and multitask while simultaneously maintaining a high level of attention to detail to ensure all match day requirements are delivered. Further, the successful candidate will be available to work after hours and on weekends, and have a willingness to roll up their sleeves and get involved wherever they can to ensure we provide unforgettable experiences that leaves our fans wanting more.
To be considered, you will meet the below criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in an Event Management or Sport Management degree
- High proficiency in the Microsoft Suite i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders
- Highly organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (or arranged upon appointment)
- Current Victoria Driver’s License
