Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the upcoming 2024 Coaches’ Conference and Workshop, set to take place in Tshwane this week.

This year’s conference is divided into two segments: July 24-25, focusing on Domestic Women’s League Coaches, and July 28-29, centering on Domestic Men’s Coaches. Both groups will also participate in the DEI Indaba from July 26-28.

The conference aims to address the core elements necessary for South African cricket to remain sustainable and develop a thriving talent pipeline. Key discussions will include the structure of the professional cricket system, how it compares to international standards, and the resources and empowerment of affiliates.

CSA Director of Cricket, Enoch Nkwe, highlighted the importance of this annual conference:

“Hosting this year’s conference is crucial for Division 1, Division 2, and national team coaches as we aim to solidify the brand and philosophy of South African cricket, which significantly influences how stakeholders perceive the game.

“It is essential for CSA to hear from the coaches, especially after the first season of professionalising the domestic women’s structure. We anticipate valuable insights from the coaches about the evolving cricket landscape and their commitment to working collaboratively to enhance our domestic product.

“We look forward to ongoing engagement with all stakeholders and providing platforms for constructive discussions that will advance the game,” said Nkwe.
