The ICC has approved a budget of Rs12.80 billion for Pakistan to host the 2025 Champions Trophy from February to March. This budget, prepared by ICC’s CFO Ankur Khanna and PCB’s CFO Javed Murtaza, will support the renovation of venues in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
The PCB has selected three venues: Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium.
Although the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) intends to host the entire Champions Trophy in Pakistan, India’s participation remains uncertain.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet decided whether the Indian team will travel to Pakistan or play at a neutral venue.
The PCB has proposed a schedule with India playing all its matches in Lahore, including the India-Pakistan clash on March 1.
If India advances to the semifinals and final, these matches will also be held in Lahore.
Last year, India opted not to travel to Pakistan for the regional Asia Cup. The tournament was ultimately played in a hybrid model, with India playing all their matches in Sri Lanka.
A senior BCCI official confirmed that there were no discussions with the PCB about the Champions Trophy during the recent ICC conference, emphasizing that the ICC will handle the matter.
However, there was no discussion held on India’s reported reluctance about traveling to Pakistan for the tournament at the ICC Annual Conference held in Colombo.
