Affiliated with Worcestershire County Cricket Club but acting as a standalone business, Worcestershire Cricket Foundation operates as a charity within the framework of ‘Cricket for all’. This means our sole focus is to provide opportunities to everyone in the community to improve their lives through cricket, no matter who you are, where you live or your level of cricket ability. To do this we employ a team of highly talented coaches who deliver a multitude of programmes in the community across Worcestershire and the Black Country, working with multiple stakeholders to deliver to thousands of participants each year.

The Executive Director

This critical senior position within our organisation is focused on managing, mentoring and leading a team of 17 individuals to ensure the strategic objectives of the Foundation are delivered. This is a business leadership position with control over the P&L, marketing, HR, finance, fundraising and legal aspects of the business and will work closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure the Foundation continues to grow and increase its impact in the community. We are in the process of finalising a 5-year strategy for the Foundation and the Executive Director will play a vital role in finalising this and then delivering this alongside the ECB’s Inspiring Generations strategy for the whole of cricket.Our Foundation is at a critical stage of its development and the Executive Director will be the driving force behind everything that comes next.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills, character, and attributes:

Essential

  • Experience of running a business including aspects of finance, HR and people development.
  • Experience of setting and delivering against strategic objectives.
  • Experience of inspiring and leading a team.
  • Experience of business and community development.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Experience of managing a wide range of stakeholder partnerships.

Desirable

  • Experience of fundraising within a charity setting.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working with volunteers.
  • Knowledge of the charity sector.
  • Knowledge of sports development, particularly grassroots cricket.
  • Knowledge of marketing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
