About the role

SACA is looking for an experienced Cricket Officer – South East Country to join our Community Cricket team. The Cricket Officer will promote cricket and drive the delivery of entry level programs at schools and clubs within a designated region. The role will aim to support affiliated club and association volunteers, whilst connecting schools and clubs in the region to help progress children through Cricket Australia’s national junior pathway.

Key responsibilities:

·       Deliver on key region KPI’s, growing the game by being proactive in identifying new opportunities for growth.

·       Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at schools and clubs.

·       Support clubs and associations through the requirements of the Club Support Program, including annual Affiliation process and Child Safety Audits.

·       Deliver club consultation process, ensuring clubs feel supported and empowered to set achievable outcome-based goals, whilst maintaining alignment to SACA’s Strategy.

·       Ensure all programs are delivered to the highest quality, aspiring to achieve exceptional experiences for all.

·       Physically deliver entry level club and school-based programs as required. Be at all new programs for the first week to meet and engage with new stakeholders (when capable i.e., if multiple new programs are commencing on the same day, prioritise one).

·       Organise, promote and (where applicable) deliver Adelaide Strikers school holiday programs and Woolworths Cricket Blast.

·       Organise, promote and (where applicable) deliver the School Visit Program within selected region.

·       Support the growth and development of SACA’s Primary School Cricket Competition in collaboration with the Competition Experience Team.

·       Coordinate timing and personnel engagement of school-based programs so participants have a clear pathway from entry level programs to junior competitions.

·       Ensure all current and local data including key contact information and communication history is accurately recorded in the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).

·       Connect staff from the Participation Growth Team to stakeholders as required and assist with identifying new program opportunities.

·       Work collaboratively with the Competition Experience Team as required and assist with competitions, carnivals and support data use.

·       Maintain a close working relationship with Facilities & Infrastructure Team to coordinate ACIF, “Places to Play” and other grant opportunities for clubs, schools, and councils.

·       Work with Cricket Australia (CA) to ensure best practises are implemented across South Australia and opportunities to upskill are being utilised.

·       Undertake a range of tasks as required by the Community Cricket Management Team.

·       You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one.

Would also be great if you have…

·       Relevant experience and/or understanding of community sport and relevant stakeholder groups including volunteers, coaches, clubs and associations.

·       The ability to work collaboratively and supportively as part of a team to achieve shared objectives.

·       A capacity to achieve outlined KPI’s needed to maximise overall department performance

·       High level organisational skills and ability to manage the logistics associated with the roll out of programs and competitions.

·       Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to positively influence and build external stakeholder relationships.

·       Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to positively reflect the SACA, Strikers and Woolworths Cricket Blast brands in the community.

·       The presence and energy to motivate both casual staff and unpaid volunteers involved in delivering the game of cricket.

·       Capacity to manage within overall agreed financial parameters.

·       An understanding, or a willingness to learn how to use the CRM, PlayHQ and track participation data and club trends.

·       An understanding and appreciation of the game of cricket both in terms of avenues for growing participation and of the technical skills associated with the game.

·       A valid Working with Children Check issued by the Department of Human Service Screening Unit.
