ACB: Squads named for the X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, presented by Etisalat

Afghanistan Cricket Board’s national selection committee has finalized squads for the five regional teams featuring in the 9th edition of the X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, Presented by Etisalat, starting August 12 in Kabul Province.

Afghanistan’s T20I Skipper Rashid Khan, ODI & Test Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, T20I Vice-Captain Ibrahim Zadran, ODI Vice-Captain Rahmat Shah, and young talented fast-bowling all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai have been named as skippers for the Speenghar Tigers, Band-e-Amir Dragons, Mis-e-Ainak Knights, Bost Defenders, and Amo Sharks respectively in the 21-day-long X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, Presented by Etisalat. Each team will play the others twice in a double-round robin format, followed by a final on August 25.

Here are the squads for the five participating teams in SCL9:

Speenghar Tigers:

Rashid Khan (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Hassan Eisakhil, Imran Mir, Samiullah Shinwari, Baheer Shah, Allah Noor, Barakatullah Kadada, Ikram Alikhil, Tariq Stanikzai, Ismat Alam, Zahir Khan, Waheed Zadran, Arab Gul, Yamin Ahmadzai, Bilal Sami, Mohammad Ibrahim, Faridoon Dawoodzai.

Band-e-Amir Dragons:

Hashmatullah Shahidi (C), Mahboob Taskeen (WK), Sediqullah Atal, Riaz Hassan, Asif Mosazai, Sediqullah Pacha, Ali Ahmad, Karim Janat, Shams Ur Rahman, Nangial Kharoti, Amir Hamza, Allah Mohammad, Babar Khan, Naveen Ul Haq, Khalil Ahmad, Abdullah Ahmadzai, Nijat Masood.

Mis-e-Ainak Knights:

Amo Sharks:

Azmatullah Omarzai (C), Mohammad Ishaq (WK), Abdul Malik, Zubaid Akbari, Mohammad Haroon, Shahidullah Kamal, Javeed Ahmadzai, Ijaz Ahmad Azad, Hayat Nasiri, Masood Gurbaz, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Juma Gul, Qais Ahmad, Mohammadullah Logari, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Saleem Safi, Mohammad Gul, Kamil Kakar.

The defending champions, Speenghar Tigers, will take on the Band-e-Amir Dragons in the opening fixture on August 12.

Super Cola Beverages Manufacturing Company has secured the title sponsorship rights for the event, while Etisalat Afghanistan Telecommunication Company has obtained the presenting sponsorship rights. Subsequently, the Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 is set to be named the “XBull Energy Drink Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 Presented by Etisalat.”

As a significant part of Afghanistan’s domestic cricket structure, the 9th edition of the X-Bull Energy Shpageeza Cricket League 2024, Presented by Etisalat will play a crucial role in the growth of cricket in the country. The Shpageeza Cricket League 2024 will be followed by the 7th edition of the Ahmad Shah Abdali First Class Tournament in September this year.
