The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world – the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is more than just a stadium, it’s an Australian icon and a meeting place for generations past, present and future. The MCG is host to more than 70 major events and attracts over four million visitors annually. The MCC is the largest sporting club in the country with over 155,000 members and also manages 13 sporting sections with participation over 2,600. The Australian Sports Museum (ASM) has its home at the MCG, celebrating the country’s rich sporting history, which is also managed by the MCC.

The Commercial Operations & Partnerships Department is responsible for the MCC’s marketing initiatives, communications, publicity, issues management, community partnerships, corporate sales, business development, advertising, merchandise and commercial arrangements with sponsors, suppliers and partners. Within this department the Digital Communications team is responsible for the continuous development, implementation and management of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Australian Sports Museum’s suite of digital assets and channels to grow audiences based on the strategic objectives. It also oversees the content on the MCC staff intranet and internal communications.

A fantastic newly created job opportunity has arisen within this team for an experienced Video and Multimedia Producer to make their mark and become the chief video storyteller for the beating heart of Melbourne. Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, the key goals of this role are to:

  • Produce in-house video projects that align to business needs & goals, with a focus on storytelling.
  • Grow our storytelling capability as an organisation through video.
  • Deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders to help grow the positive reputation of Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Australian Sports Museum (ASM) brands and our in-house video & multimedia production capabilities.

Join our creative dynamic team to plan, shoot, produce, and edit video and multimedia projects for the iconic MCG, MCC, and ASM brands. Collaborate with the Social Media Specialist and other members of the Digital team to create engaging content for social media, websites, apps, email channels, the venue LED IPTV systems & MCG big screens! Work with the wider Commercial Operations and Partnerships Team to develop creative video / multimedia concepts and produce video projects that drive campaign success. Maintain brand integrity, refine our video briefing process, and manage our video archive. Build meaningful relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders (including broadcasters, tenant clubs, leagues and event promoters), contributing to strategic planning and bringing innovative ideas / concepts to weekly team meetings with the Corporate Affairs, Marketing, and Community team.

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-driven, collaborative team player with a passion for all things video and multimedia production, staying current with the latest trends and technologies. You’ll have a have a natural ability to listen, gather information and come up with creative concepts that translate to strong video storytelling outcomes. A positive attitude with a service focus and an ability to create meaningful stakeholder relationships is critical. Additionally excellent time management skills, flexibility and a commitment to meeting deadlines are necessary for success.

It is essential that you have:

  • A tertiary qualification in video production, media or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in video / multimedia production in an in-house, freelance or agency videography role
  • Advanced knowledge of various camera systems and techniques, including but not limited to DSLR filming (Sony preferred, but Panasonic or Canon/Nikon/others also accepted), GoPro/timelapse cameras, gimbal shooting etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of video editing tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud programs (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder)
  • A strong understanding of the digital video production and post-production workflow
  • A strong portfolio of existing creative video work (either personal, or for a company/organisation)
  • A current Drivers Licence

Preferable

  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects / motion graphics skills
  • Experience shooting drone video footage
  • A keen interest in sport & major events

Please note there is a requirement to work a varied work schedule in line with the MCC/MCG’s events schedule, including working on weeknights, weekends and across public holidays / holiday periods (time in lieu will apply).
