Cricket South Africa has announced their awards nominees and both Hollywoodbets Dolphins men’s and women’s players highlight the list of nominees for the prestigious awards to be held on 5 September.
There are numerous categories both domestic and international and Hollywoodbets Dolphins and Proteas star Keshav Maharaj has received nominations in various categories for his contributions to the Proteas.
He’s been nominated in no fewer than three categories which include Men’s Player of the Year, ODI Player of the Year as well as the SA Fan’s Player of the Year.
Another multiple award nominee is Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies and Proteas spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba.
Domestically Mlaba is nominated in the Division 1 One Day Player of the Year category and nationally she’s been nominated in the Best Delivery Fuelled by KFC category for her delivery against Pakistan last year.
She’s also joined Keshav Maharaj in the SA Fans’ Player of the Year category.
Following their trophy winning season this past season, Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies head coach Angelique Taai has been nominated in the Women’s Division 1 Coach of the Year category.
One of the most significant domestic award nominations is Marques Ackerman’s nomination in the 4-Day Series Player of the Year category. Ackerman finished the tournament as the leading run scorer.
There are also a number of nominations in the CSA Pathway Awards with Roxton Payne and Hayden Bishop being nominated in the CSA Boys Under 16 and Khaya Majola Cricket Week Player of the Tournament categories respectively.
“Once again Dolphins players and coaches have been recognised for their contributions to the game nationally,” CEO Heinrich Strydom said.
“It was another successful season for a number of players, and we are proud that they will be in the running for national recognition.
“We look forward to seeing how they fare at the Awards on 5 September.”
KZN based umpire Lubabalo Gcuma is has been nominated in both the Umpire of the Year and Umpire’s Umpire of the Year category.
