The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a significant salary increase for domestic players as part of its plan for the Domestic Cricket Season 2024-25. This increase is expected to benefit 150 domestic players as well as those under central contracts.

The upcoming season, running from September 1, 2024, to August 5, 2025, will feature 261 matches across eight senior men’s tournaments. The PCB’s new contract structure aims to recognize and reward players who have excelled over the past three years by providing a fair and competitive remuneration package.

The new salary structure is as follows:

Category 1: 40 cricketers will receive PKR 550,000 per month.

Category 2: 50 cricketers will receive PKR 400,000 per month.

Category 3: 60 cricketers will receive PKR 250,000 per month.

This is a significant increase compared to the previous season’s domestic contracts, which ranged from PKR 50,000 to PKR 300,000.

Additionally, match fees have also been increased:

Red-ball matches: PKR 200,000

50-over games: PKR 125,000

T20 matches: PKR 100,000

These fees are substantially higher than last season’s fees of PKR 40,000 for white-ball cricket and PKR 80,000 for red-ball cricket.

The new contract structure is designed to ensure that players are fairly compensated and recognized for their performances over the past three years.
