On July 13, the World Championship of Legends (WCL) attracted almost 20000 spectators to Edgbaston and captured the interest of cricket fans worldwide. Nearly 100 million cricket fans watched the match between India and Pakistan live on TV on OTT platforms and on social media.

Earning the support of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) gave the WCL legitimacy and prestige and this was a turning point in the league’s success. By drawing a roster of players that included both current stars without contracts with their respective boards and cricket legends WCL further solidified its reputation in the sport.
