Cricket Nepal issues RFP for Nepal Premier League franchise ownership

Introduction

Nepal Premier League is a flagship T20 cricket league initiated by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). The league aims to elevate Nepali cricket and create opportunities for players, businesses, and communities. Through a highly competitive environment, the league provides a platform for cricketers to showcase their talent both nationally and internationally.

Bidder Qualifications

To participate in the bidding process for Nepal Premier League franchise ownership, prospective bidders must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Legal Entity: The bidding company must be formally registered under the Office of Company Registrar in Nepal.
  • Tax Compliance: The bidding company must comply with Nepal’s Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations and possess a valid tax clearance certificate.
  • Joint Venture (for International Bidders): International companies interested in owning a franchise must form a joint venture with a local Nepali company to participate in the bidding process.
  • Clean Record: The bidding company and its associated individuals must have an impeccable reputation with no history of criminal charges, convictions, financial fraud, money laundering, or other illegal financial activities.

Submission Guidelines

  • Form Collection: Interested bidders to collect the RFP forms from the CAN Head Office, Mulpani, Kathmandu
  • Form Fees: NRs. 1,00,000 only (In words Nepali Rupees One Lakh only), Non-Refundable
  • Proposal Submission: All proposals must be submitted by August 16, 2024.

Evaluation and Selection

CAN reserves the sole right to select the franchise owners without providing any explanation or justification for its decision. By submitting a proposal, bidders agree to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in this RFP.
