The Cricket NSW Foundation (the Foundation) made a powerful impact on the state’s cricket playing community during the 2023/2024 season. Believing everyone should have the opportunity to play and love cricket, the Foundation raised valuable funds to invest in initiatives that remove barriers to enjoying our great game.

The Cricket NSW Foundation Impact Report, released in August 2024 highlights the wonderful initiatives that the Foundation was able to fund and deliver in season 2023/2024. Some of the key metrics from the season passed were:

  • $673,000 raised for the CNSW Foundation
  • 1022 individuals made a tax-deductible donation
  • 50 total initiatives delivered this season
  • 2627 participants in CNSW Foundation funded programs

Through its resources and initiatives, the Foundation delivered programs that focused on creating opportunities for First Nations People, females and the all-abilities community. The Foundation also invested in its elite pathway through scholarships to produce outstanding players and role models, who will go on to inspire the next generation. Some of its initiatives were also aimed at supporting the wider cricket community, through initiatives promoting improved health and wellbeing.

This season has helped collect over $3 million dollars committed to the Foundation since 2020/21 season from 4369 donors. The donations have now helped deliver programs to 4343 participants across 79 initiatives. The report highlights the impact the programs have had on individuals, clubs and associations and the wider community.

Jake Balnave, Head of the Cricket NSW Foundation, said:

“None of this would be possible without the wonderful support from the Foundation’s most generous donors to whom we are sincerely grateful for their committed and ongoing contribution.

“We have had an amazing season delivering programs to all corners of NSW. We also saw amazing success stories from our NSW men’s and women’s teams at the National Indigenous Cricket Championships, inspiring moments from our teams contesting the National Cricket Inclusion Championships and 1000’s of smiling faces from boys and girls at Indigenous Youth Programs, trips to regional NSW, and our all-abilities programs.”

“We look forward to season 2024/2025 where we hope to continue to grow the imprint and impact we can have on our wider community.”
