Round 2 of the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund has been finalised, with investment from Cricket Australia, Queensland Cricket and Australian Cricketers’ Association being allocated towards 24 projects across the state. The funding has amounted in $5,900,573.62 worth of cricket-related infrastructure across Queensland clubs, associations, schools & councils.
Included within the list of 24 successful applicants were 19 from regional Queensland, aligning with Queensland Cricket’s commitment to supporting regional areas. Among these 19 regional successful applicants, were Northern Suburbs Cricket Club (Mackay), Atherton Cricket Club, Shalom College, Ingham State High School, and Noosa Shire Council.
Queensland Cricket’s strategic priorities were also met in this round through ‘lighting up’ multiple training facilities across Queensland, as funding was allocated towards five Outdoor Practice Facility Floodlighting projects. Included within these successful applicants were Queens Cricket Club, Mackay Cricket Association, Southern Lockyer Cricket Club, Tewantin-Noosa Cricket Club, and Sandgate-Redcliffe District Cricket Club.
With the ACIF coming to a close for the 2023-24 season, no fewer than 50 projects have secured ACIF funding towards a total project value of over $13 million. We thank all applicants and contributors for making this possible. The joint initiative between Cricket Australia, Queensland Cricket and the Australian Cricketers’ Association, through its contribution via the Grassroots Cricket Fund, has continued to allow cricket clubs, associations, schools and councils to build and improve local cricket facilities and grounds.
The ACIF will continue to be delivered in season 2024-25, providing opportunity for cricket clubs, associations, schools and council to advance cricket-related infrastructure in Queensland. Prospective applicants can expect further communications regarding the next round in the coming months, in the lead up to round 1 opening at the start of the season.
