Cricket Wellington’s Board of Directors has appointed current Capital Football GM, Todd Bryant, as the new permanent CEO of Cricket Wellington, effective from Monday, October 14th.
Bryant, who was first involved with Capital Football in 2016, is a tenured sports administrator at both the regional and national levels.
Working in leadership roles, including as the current acting CEO at Capital Football, Bryant will bring a unique mix of sporting expertise and business development to the organisation.
The move to a permanent CEO comes after Bruce Edgar was given the interim title last month to oversee the business in a transitional period.
Edgar has now been appointed by the Board to a new position as Cricket Director for Growth where he is to report directly to the Chair, but for the upcoming season will also retain a role in Cricket Wellington’s High-Performance department.
David Howman, Chair of the Cricket Wellington board, is encouraged by the new appointments.
“We are very pleased to appoint someone of Todd’s caliber to the CEO role,” said Howman.
“His accomplishments at both Capital Football and New Zealand Football speak for themselves, both in a sporting and financial sense, and we look forward to having him on board.”
“In tandem with the new CEO, we are looking forward to having Bruce in his new role where cricket in Wellington can benefit from his vast knowledge, expertise and passion for the game, by embracing opportunities to grow the game and explore new financial opportunities.”
“It’s a promising time for Cricket Wellington and we are excited about the future of the game in our region as the 2024/25 summer draws closer”, he said.
Cricket Wellington looks forward to welcoming Bryant to his new role in October.
