President Lisa Sthalekar: a true champion

Must Read

“We’re really lucky to have her as our President,” – Tom Moffat (WCA CEO)

Lisa Sthalekar is a top cricket executive and former Australian Women’s International. She represented Australia for over 11 years, announcing her retirement a day after winning the 2013 Women’s ODI World Cup. She featured in 187 matches and was vice-captain when she won the Women’s International Cricketer of the Year Award for Australia in February 2007.

Since retiring she has been extremely active as a coach and as a broadcaster.

She’s been also serving as an Independent Director of the World Cricketers’ Association (formerly FICA) since 2016, and became the WCA President in June 2022, a role she still holds.

Even though it’s meant to be a ceremonial position, WCA Chief Executive Tom Moffat emphasized to us on our podcast how Sthalekar is extremely dedicated to role of President, contributes lots of time, and goes above and beyond to advocate for the interests and well-being of players.
