Former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud Sujon has resigned from his position as a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Mahmud submitted his resignation to the board on Wednesday, though the reason for his departure has not been disclosed.

This marks the end of Mahmud’s long-standing role as a BCB director.

Earlier this month, former Bangladesh skipper Naimur Rahman Durjoy also stepped down from his position as a BCB director.

Following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, Nazmul Hasan resigned as BCB president, while Shafiul Alam Chowdhury stepped down as chairman of the BCB’s women’s wing. However, both retained their roles as BCB directors.

Last month, Jalal Younus, who joined the BCB through a National Sports Council (NSC) nomination, resigned as a BCB director following a request from the NSC.

Veteran sports organizer Ahmed Sajjadul Alam Bobby, also nominated by the NSC, refused to resign and was subsequently removed by the sports council.

In their place, Faruk Ahmed and Nazmul Abedeen Fahim joined the board as directors. Faruk later became the new BCB president on August 21, ending Nazmul Hasan’s long tenure as head of the country’s cricket governing body.
