Cricket South Africa (CSA) today announced the appointment of Ms. Pearl Maphoshe as Chairperson of the Board of Directors, with Adv. Ncumisa Mayosi appointed as the Lead Independent Director.

With 19 years of diverse executive experience across multiple industries, Pearl Maphoshe has expertise in both board and executive leadership. She has served as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Johannesburg Stock Exchange listed companies and their subsidiaries.

Maphoshe was appointed to the Board of CSA as an independent non-executive director in November 2022 and chaired the Human Resources (HR) and Remuneration subcommittee. She currently chairs the HR and Compensation Commission at SASCOC and serves as the Chairperson of Human Capital and Remco at Medshield Medical Aid, Independent Expert on the HR & Remuneration Committee of the Government Employees Pension Fund and as an External Expert on the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal Human Resources Committee amongst others.

Advocate Ncumisa Mayosi has been appointed as the Lead Independent Director of the Board. She is a member of the Cape Bar of Advocates and currently serves as a trustee of the Archbishop Tutu Intellectual Property Trust.

Advocate Mayosi was Chairperson of the Eastern Cape Gambling and Betting Board before being appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of CSA in October 2023. She has served as a member on the University of Cape Town Council, and the Walter Sisulu University Council where she was Chairperson of the Appeals Committee.

Continuing its forward momentum in advancing the role of women in South African sport, CSA received recognition at the renowned Gsports Awards on Thursday night, winning the Federation of the Year award for the second consecutive year. The award is in recognition of CSA’s efforts in professionalising Women’s Domestic Cricket, broadcasting the T20 Pro League live, and winning silver at the 2024 African Games.
