Background:
Kent Cricket is one of only 18 first class county cricket clubs in England and Wales. From our headquarters at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury, and with a satellite ground at The County Ground, Beckenham, we are responsible for the growth and development of all cricket across Kent and our four London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich and Lewisham – from community and schools’ cricket to the professional game.

Summary of the Role:
You will lead the delivery of Strength and Conditioning services within Kent County Cricket Club (KCCC). Primarily this will be the first team squad members, as well as supporting and overseeing delivery the KCCC Academy and CAG programme with a Pathways S&C Coach.
Principle Responsibilities:
• Lead, plan and deliver the provision of annual individualised Strength & Conditioning programmes for each member of Kent’s Professional Squad
• Line-manage a Pathways Strength and Conditioning coach
• Plan and lead regular pre-season and in-season testing, in keeping with the physical benchmarks for professional cricketers, as identified by KCCC.
• Report any testing, screening and assessment results on the ECB database and feed these results directly back to the player, physiotherapist and coaches.
• Attend home 1st XI, and 2nd XI games and training days as directed by the Head Coach and/or Head of Science and Medicine
• Formally monitor and review the workloads of players every week with the Physiotherapists, Head Coach and Head of Talent Pathway
• Contribute towards the annual Strength and Conditioning and Medical Team injury audit objectives
• Work within the predetermined cricket budget for strength and conditioning set by the Head of Science and Medicine.
• Appropriately liaise with and manage any S&C related arrangements with external facilities
• Offer advice to all players on their daily lifestyle and S&C related requirements.
• Work closely with the club’s caterers and consultant nutritionist to provide the appropriate matchday menu options (specific dietary requirements).
• Liaise with ECB staff (Lead S&C Coach, Physiotherapist) on the support of individual KCCC players where relevant.
• Be expected to maintain a relevant qualification for your role.
• Undertake regular formal and informal CPD related to your role that will benefit your development.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in sports science or strength and conditioning
• UKSCA accreditation
• ISAK Accreditation or willing to obtain within 12 months
• 5+ years’ experience working in strength and conditioning.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to recognise and show compassion when working with performance athletes.
Desirable
• 2+ years’ experience working in strength and conditioning in elite sport
• LUBAS First Aid in Sport Qualification
In addition, the post-holder should have or will be required to obtain:
• Legal entitlement to work in the UK
• Full driving licence
• ECB Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
• First Aid in Sport and Basic Life Support Qualifications
• Safe-Guarding children certification

Job Details:
Location: The Spitfire Ground, Canterbury & The County Ground, Beckenham
Salary: £ 34,000 – £38,000
CPD contribution:
Position Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week across evenings and weekends with travel

Special Conditions:
The post holder will be based at the Spitfire Cricket Ground as part of the Professional Cricket Department. Due to the nature of the work, the post holder will carry out his/her duties as such times/days which are most effective to perform the tasks required. This may involve some out of hours work – evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays, as necessary. The policies of the Club reflect a 52-week, seven-day operation for all cricket provision.
