India will host the 2025 Asia Cup in the T20I format, according to the Invitation To Tender (ITT) released by the Asia Cricket Council (ACC).
The ACC has set a base price of USD 170 million for the media rights of the Asia Cup from 2024 to 2031.
Bangladesh is set to host the 2027 edition in the ODI format, which will take place ahead of the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup in South Africa. The format of the Asia Cup has been aligned with the upcoming ICC events in recent editions, such as the 2026 T20 World Cup. The most recent Asia Cup, held in the ODI format, preceded the 2023 World Cup, with India clinching their record-extending eighth title.
India will now have the chance to defend the trophy on home soil, marking the first time since 1990 that the BCCI will host the Asia Cup, where India defeated Sri Lanka in the final.
Pakistan will host the 2029 Asia Cup in the T20I format, and Sri Lanka will host the 2031 edition in the ODI format. Each of these tournaments will feature 13 matches, with India and Pakistan set to face off at least twice, and possibly a third time if both teams reach the final.
In addition, three editions of the Women’s Asia Cup will be held during this period. The media rights auction is scheduled for November 1.
