Season 10 of the Weber WBBL will launch in Adelaide this week, with the world’s best cricket league for women taking over the heart of the city before Sunday’s season opening matches.
The iconic Rundle Mall will come alive from today with a unique ‘WBBL|10 Timeline’ installation that showcases the competition’s rich history as the world’s best cricket league for women.
As the League enters its milestone tenth season, fans will re-live epic individual and team achievements from previous editions of the WBBL through video, imagery and storytelling, while also acknowledging the 35 players who have taken part in every season since inception.
The Timeline activation will be supported by multiple media opportunities, as well as events where fans can meet their favourite players, enjoy photo moments with Championship trophies, take home giveaways and purchase tickets.
Weber WBBL|10 begins on Sunday, October 27 with a triple header across the Adelaide Oval (two matches) and WACA Ground (one match). The League’s new-look regular season features 40 matches followed by three Finals, culminating in the decider on Sunday, December 1.
Tickets for all Weber WBBL|10 and KFC BBL|14 matches are available at www.bigbash.com.au.
Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager, Big Bash Leagues, said:
“We are delighted to be launching the Weber WBBL’s milestone tenth season in Adelaide, the home of our defending back-to-back champions the Strikers, this week.
“It has been another huge build up to the WBBL season, with an intriguing T20 World Cup, the inaugural T20 Spring Challenge and another successful Draft setting us up for a brilliant summer.
“To kick off celebrations marking Season 10, we’re proud to unveil the ‘WBBL|10 Timeline’ in the heart of Adelaide’s CBD. We look forward to welcoming fans into the activation over the next four days to experience the iconic stories and memorable moments from the WBBL’s history and celebrate the players who have been there from the start.”
