President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday congratulated Pakistan’s national cricket team on their Test series victory over England.

Pakistan clinched the third and final match to win the series.

“The national cricket team played very well against England. I congratulate the whole nation and team on winning the series,” the president stated.

He expressed hope for continued strong performances from the team in the future.

The prime minister also extended his congratulations to Pakistan’s cricket team for winning the home series against England.

“The fervour and teamwork of Pakistan cricket team has made the nation proud. We are very happy on the success of our team,” he said with pride.

He also wished the Pakistan team good luck for upcoming matches.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi praised the team’s performance in the Rawalpindi Test and the series.

“National cricket players earned victory by presenting a great game. Sajid Khan and Noman Ali did excellent bowling and Saud Shakeel showed good batting and scored a century,” said the PCB chairman.

He noted that the victory would boost the players’ morale, adding that young and emerging talents justified their selection with their performances.

“Along with the players, the nation was also waiting for such a convincing victory,” Naqvi added.
