VVS Laxman is set to fill in once again as head coach for India, this time stepping in for Gautam Gambhir. Laxman, who heads the National Cricket Academy (NCA), will lead the Indian team, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, during the T20I tour of South Africa.

According to a report, the four-match series preceding the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia will see Laxman temporarily step away from his NCA duties to serve as India’s head coach. He previously filled this role on India’s tour of Ireland in 2023, among other assignments.

The four T20Is are scheduled for November 8, 10, 13, and 15 in Durban, Gqeberha, Centurion, and Johannesburg, with the team departing for South Africa on November 4.

Sairaj Bahutule, who served as the bowling coach on India’s Sri Lanka tour, will continue in this role for South Africa. He will be joined by Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Subhadeep Ghosh, both part of Laxman’s coaching staff at the NCA.
