Dwain Gill, a former Cricket West Indies (CWI) director and past president of the Windward Islands Cricket Board, has been appointed as CWI‘s High-Performance Manager, succeeding Graeme West.
Gill, who also served as president of the Grenada Cricket Association, holds academic qualifications in business administration, including a Bachelor of Science and a master’s degree. He was the manager of the West Indies Under-19 team that triumphed at the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup.
The High-Performance Manager position became vacant on September 30, following the departure of Graeme West. After 12 years with Caribbean cricket, West accepted the role of Director of High Performance at Cricket Ireland.
West joined CWI in June 2012 as the head coach of the High-Performance Centre in Cave Hill, Barbados. He guided the West Indies Under-19 team to their 2016 World Cup victory and led the West Indies “A” team to series wins against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. West also played a key role in establishing the Men’s and Women’s Academy programs at Coolidge and the 12-month Under-19 Pathway Programme.
