Mohammad Salahuddin, a prominent Bangladesh domestic coach, was appointed as the batting coach for the national team’s tour of the West Indies, which includes two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. Salahuddin, who was named senior assistant coach in November, took over the batting coach role from David Hemp.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced Salahuddin’s appointment on November 20, with the first Test set to begin on November 22 at North Sound. Salahuddin previously won the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as head coach of the Comilla Victorians and guided Sylhet Royals to the final in the 2013-14 season.

Hemp, initially hired as High Performance head coach and later assigned the batting coach role, will now return to his original position.

“Hemp is not part of the team as we have appointed Mohammad Salahuddin as senior assistant coach. He will look after our batting,” Shahriar Nafees, BCB Cricket Operations in-charge, said.

Salahuddin’s tenure runs until March 15, 2024, subject to renewal. Additionally, Akshay Hiremath from India replaced Mohsin Sheikh as the performance analyst for the West Indies tour.
