The Weber WBBL|10 Young Gun has been crowned, while the BKT Golden Bat and BKT Golden Arm winners have been confirmed following the completion of the home and away season.
Today’s honours follow the confirmation of the Weber WBBL|10 Finals schedule last night, with Melbourne Renegades to host the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Weber WBBL|10 Young Gun
Chloe Ainsworth has been named the Weber WBBL|10 Young Gun winner after a stellar second campaign for the Perth Scorchers.
The 19-year-old fast bowler led the Scorchers’ attack with the new ball and duly repaid that faith, claiming 12 wickets at 18.58 apiece.
Ainsworth was twice named player of the match for those new ball feats, dismissing Melbourne Stars’ Meg Lanning and Annabel Sutherland on the first of those occasions, before claiming the scalps of Sydney Thunder’s Chamari Athapaththu and Georgia Voll on the second.
BKT Golden Bat
Sydney Sixers captain Ellyse Perry marked her tenth WBBL season with a vintage performance at the top of the order to earn the BKT Golden Bat award.
Perry topped the season run-scoring charts for the third time in her WBBL career, smashing 424 runs this season at an average of 53, including four half centuries to consolidate her position as the WBBL’s second-leading run-scorer of all time.
In a season dominated by 10-season greats, the competition’s all-time leading run-scorer, Beth Mooney, finished second on the Golden Bat leaderboard just five runs behind Perry, with Lizelle Lee a further 10 runs shy in third.
BKT Golden Bat Leaderboard:
- Ellyse Perry (Sydney Sixers, 424 runs)
- Beth Mooney (Perth Scorchers, 386 runs)
- Lizelle Lee (Hobart Hurricanes, 376 runs)
- Georgia Voll (Sydney Thunder, 310 runs)
- Phoebe Litchfield (Sydney Thunder, 281 runs)
BKT Golden Arm
Alana King enjoyed her best-ever WBBL campaign to spin her way to the BKT Golden Arm award for WBBL|10.
The Perth Scorchers leg-spinner claimed 20 wickets at 13.30 apiece for the campaign, her best single season haul despite the competition’s shift from a 14-match to 10-match per team format.
Ten-season players also dominated the Golden Arm standings, with King joined by Samantha Bates, Sophie Molineux and Ashleigh Gardner among the leading bowlers for WBBL|10.
BKT Golden Arm Leaderboard:
- Alana King (Perth Scorchers, 20 wickets)
- Samantha Bates (Sydney Thunder, 19 wickets)
- Ashleigh Gardner (Sydney Sixers, 16 wickets)
- Amelia Kerr (Sydney Sixers, 15 wickets)
- Sophie Molineux (Melbourne Renegades, 15 wickets)
Alistair Dobson, Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager, Big Bash Leagues, said:
“Our congratulations go to each of Chloe Ainsworth, Ellyse Perry and Alana King for their stellar campaigns which have earned them the awards announced today.
“As our tenth season comes to a close, it is fantastic to be acknowledging both youthful and experienced players for their on-field feats.
“While all three players have enjoyed fantastic individual seasons, each represents a WBBL side that fell agonisingly short of Finals action, demonstrating just how close and high quality the entire competition is.”

The Weber WBBL|10 Player of the Tournament will be announced at the Australian Cricket Awards in early 2025.
